Brayan Orea is a member at our John D. “Jackie” Gaughan Clubhouse and a role model for all the Club kids over there. He has earned our feature profile! Read a little more about Brayan below.

Q: How long have you been affiliated with the BGCLV?

A: I have been affiliated with BCGLV for 5 years.

Q:What is your favorite food?

A:My favorite food is Tacos

Q: What is your favorite color?

A: My favorite color is red

Q: Who is your role model?

A: My role model is mom because I love her and she is always there for me.

Q: Which BGCLV club are you affiliated with?

A: I am affiliated with Jackie Gaughan Boys and Girls Club

Q: What are some things the BGCLV has taught you?

A: BGCLV has taught me new ways to handle different situations.

Q:How has the BGCLV affected your life?

A: BGCLV has affected my life by giving me somewhere to go, have fun, and get my mind off of things.

Q: What is your most memorable BGCLV Club moment?

A: My most memorable BGCLV Club moment was when I was told to do this questionnaire because I was chosen to be featured on the website.

 

Isaiah Harts was one of our Youth of the Year nominees from our Andre Agassi Clubhouse. He is excelling here at the Club and has earned our featured profile.

Q: How long have you been affiliated with the BGCLV?

A:       – I have been affiliated with the Boys & Girls Club for four years.

Q: What is your favorite food?

A:      -My favorite food is spicy chicken fingers and French fries.

Q: What is your favorite color?

A:       –  My favorite color is red.

Q: Who is your role model?

A:       - My role model is Ms. Melissa because she was the only one that really pushed me to succeed and reach my dreams and goals.

Q: Which BGCLV Club are you affiliated with?

A:       – The BGCLV club that I am affiliated with is the Andre Agassi Clubhouse.

Q: What are some things the BGCLV has taught you?

A:       – The BGCLV has taught me to never give up on my dreams and to stay in school to become more successful in life.

Q: How has the BGCLV affected your life?

A:       –  The Boys & Girls Club affected my life by helping me with my career in becoming a film producer and also giving me great opportunities.

Q: What is your most memorable BGCLV Club moment?

A:       – The most memorable BGCLV Club moment will have to be when I gave my big Youth of the Year speech.

 

Ruby Juarez is one of our amazing teens at the B.C. McCabe Clubhouse and has earned our featured profile.

Q: How long have you been affiliated with the BGCLV?

A:       - I have been affiliated with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Las Vegas for two and a half years.

Q: What is your favorite food?

A:       - My favorite food is nachos!

Q: What is your favorite color?

A:       –  My favorite color is Purple.

Q: Who is your role model?

A:       - My role model is my Mom. I love her!

Q: Which BGCLV Club are you affiliated with?

A:       – The BGCLV club I am affiliated with is the B.C. McCabe Clubhouse.

Q: What are some things the BGCLV has taught you?

A:       - The Boys & Girls Club has taught me to be a leader. Along with having fun, respecting others and being nice.

Q: How has the BGCLV affected your life?

A:       –  The Club has taught me to be a leader among my peers. The Club also helps with my grades and schoolwork. Lastly, it has given me the opportunity to make new friends.

Q: What is your most memorable BGCLV Club moment?

A:       - When I first made friends here and I participated in my first event.

Malcolm Hightower has been a great role model for our Club kids at the Reynolds Clubhouse and earned this month’s featured profile.

Q: How long have you been affiliated with the BGCLV?

A:       - I have been affiliated with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Las Vegas for one year.

Q: What is your favorite food?

A:       - My favorite foods are pineapples and fried chicken.

Q: What is your favorite color?

A:       –  My favorite color is blue.

Q: Who is your role model?

A:       - My role model is Barack Obama, because he has shown me that anything is possible by becoming the first African America president. I admire his passion to help others and solve problems.

Q: Which BGCLV Club are you affiliated with?

A:       – The BGCLV club I am affiliated with is the Donald W. Reynolds Clubhouse.

Q: What are some things the BGCLV has taught you?

A:       - The Boys & Girls Club has taught me how to be more responsible and how to become a role model for younger and older members.

Q: How has the BGCLV affected your life?

A:       –  I started to attend the Donald W. Reynolds Boys & Girls Club as a community service worker. After completing my hours I continued to attend the Club. BGCLV has helped me become a better person and helped me stay out of trouble. Since I have been a member, I have been a part of several programs such as Keystone and Leaders In Training (LIT).

Q: What is your most memorable BGCLV Club moment?

A:       - The most memorable moment for me was getting the opportunity to travel to California for a college tour. During the tour we were able to attend UCLA, Pepperdine University, and Cal State Fullerton.

 

Mikayla James is 15 and one of our awesome teens at the Lied Memorial Clubhouse. She is one of our Leaders In Training and is on the A/B Honor Roll at her school. She is our featured profile for the month and has been doing a great job at Lied!

Q: How long have you been affiliated with the BGCLV?

A:       –  I have been at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Las Vegas for eight years now!

Q: What is your favorite food?

A:       - I love my sisters fruit cake! It is the best.

Q: What is your favorite color?

A:       - Hot Pink.

Q: Who is your role model?

A:       - Adrienne Fowler (Early Bird Program Coordinator @ Lied Memorial Club) is my role model. She has helped me evolve into a better person and I am very happy that I met her at the Boys & Girls Club.

Q: Which BGCLV Club are you affiliated with?

A:       – I attend (and work as a LIT) at the Lied Memorial Club.  Lied has a lot of great people in it. I have a lot of friends there and the staff is super friendly and easy to get a long with.

Q: What are some things the BGCLV has taught you?

A:       – The Boys & Girls Clubs of Las Vegas has taught me patience, responsibility and that making friends is not hard.  It has also taught me how to be myself and how to accept situations that I cannot change.

Q: How has the BGCLV affected your life?

A:       –  I have met friends and staff that I can call my family.

Q: What is your most memorable BGCLV Club moment?

A:       -When I was able to come out and speak my mind,  to not only friends but also to staff members.

 

 

Evelyn Aleman is one of our awesome teens! We had a chance to sit her down to answer some questions for this months featured profile. Here is what we came up with:

Q: How long have you been affiliated with the BGCLV?

A:       - I started coming to the Club when I was eight years old. I would go on and off but came back as a teen and up to this day I am always at the Club. I was a member for about nine years. Now I am proud to say I am a staff at the James Clubhouse.

Q: What is your favorite food?

A:       - My favorite food is spaghetti. I love anything that has to do with pasta, I can eat spaghetti all day everyday and I will enjoy every bite.

Q: What is your favorite color?

A:       - My favorite color is yellow. Many people don’t like that color but I like being the odd one out sometimes and I like anything bright, it just makes me happy on the inside.

Q: Who is your role model?

A:       - I don’t have a specific role model but I have had many great role models that I look up to and have helped me get through many obstacles. I am very grateful for everyone who has helped me in one way or another. All the role models that have inspired me to be as or more successful. I will always be thankful and appreciate every little thing they do for me.

Q: Which BGCLV Club are you affiliated with?

A:       - I am from the James Clubhouse. I started really young at the North Las Vegas Clubhouse, which is now the James Clubhouse. I am very happy to say I have spent most of my time at this Club and I would not want to change any moment I have had at James.

Q: What are some things the BGCLV has taught you?

A:       - The Boys & Girls Club has taught me how to be a leader, team player, strong, respectful, and responsible person. The Club has taught me so much, I learn something new every day that I am there.

Q: How has the BGCLV affected your life?

A:       –  The Club has affected me in every positive way possible. I have grown so much and the Club has made me the person I am today. The Club helped me so much in school, as well as at my home.

Q: What is your most memorable BGCLV Club moment?

A:       - Every moment at James is a memorable one. I love spending time with the little kids and making others smile, those are always the best times I spend at the Club. I love laughing and having a good time at the Club, those are the best memories.
