We recognize that Teens require unique programs that work specifically to establish traits that will benefit their future careers, education and life-choices.
Keystone Clubs are chartered small group leadership development clubs for young people ages 14-18. Keystoners elect officers, choose their own activities and plan and implement community service projects. A national charter entitles Keystone Club to participate in regional and national Keystone conferences.
Youth of the Year
Youth of the Year is the premier recognition program for Boys & Girls Club members, promoting service to Club, community and family; academic success; strong moral character; life goals; and poise and public speaking ability.
Each Club selects a Youth of the Year who competes for the title of Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada Youth of the Year. The winner advances to the Nevada state competition and that winner represents Nevada at the Pacific Region Youth of the Year completion. Five regional winners travel to Washington, D.C. for the National Youth of the Year competition. The National Youth of the Year receives a $15,000 college scholarship and installed by the President of the United States. Click here to see our 2012 Youth of the Year.
Leaders In Training (LIT)
Designed to identify, recruit and train young people ages 13-18 to participate in a comprehensive leadership, career and volunteer development program.
It gives teens the chance to gain work, volunteer and community service experience while learning the personal skills related to employment: training in leadership, responsibilities in work situations, how to conduct oneself at work and the importance of a proper work ethic.
