On Wednesday, August 8, PGA Tour Pro & former UNLV Rebel Bill Lunde helped put on a golf clinic at our Lied Clubhouse. The Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open announced a partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Henderson and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Las Vegas that will provide local children the opportunity to be introduced to the game of golf. And what better way to start the introduction then with a PGA Tour Pro? The kids had a great day and all received a free PING visor provided by Bill Lunde. With training like this you better look out for our kids on the local golf courses around Vegas!
I was a member of the boys and girls club for over eight great years, and I always remember when someone would come along and help make a difference. It’s nice to see that people still care enough to come and teach the kids things that in an ordinary life they would never get a chance to learn. The boys and girls club is what kept me out of trouble in las vegas and taught me life skills that helped me get to where I’m at now. So first of all thank you Lied,jason pacheco(my unit director), all the staff at lied, and thank you Bill Lunde, For giving kids like me the opportunity to have great moments like this that we will never forget. I now live in Twin Falls Idaho And I sometimes Feel Bad for the kids Out here because of the fact that they are less fortunet, they don’t have people come and show them skills,or traits that they may someday need. And Until they do I will not stop trying to convince people that the Boys And girls clubs All over the world are needed and people are needed to commit to them to keep kids safe,out of trouble,and headed in the right direction.
