We are teaming up with Brighton stores in Southern Nevada for a Holiday Toy Drive. Brighton has ten stores in Southern Nevada and each one will have a collection bin for toys. All the toys that are donated will go to Boys & Girls Club kids. Please stop by a Brighton store, donate a toy and make a child’s holiday season a good one. Holiday Toy Drive will go though December 16. Thank you for your support!

Thank you to Capital One for a grant in the amount of $15,000 to support Project Learn for our members. Project Learn reinforces the academic enrichment and school engagement of young people during the time they spend at the Club.
This strategy is based on research demonstrating that students do much better in school when they spend their non-school hours engaged in fun, but academically beneficial, activities. Through Project Learn, Club staff use all the areas and programs in the Club to create opportunities for these high-yield learning activities, which include leisure reading, writing activities, discussions with knowledgeable adults, helping others, homework help, tutoring and games (such as Scrabble), that develop young people’s cognitive skills. Project Learn also emphasizes parent involvement and collaboration between Club and school professionals as critical factors in creating the best after-school learning environment for Club members ages 6 to 18.
Thank you Capital One!
We would like to give a huge thank you to Insomniac Events and Pasquale Rotella for choosing to benefit the Clubs after this year’s Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC). Yesterday they presented a $25,000 check to our Club kids at the Downtown Clubhouse! They also donated $25,000 to the Injured Police Officer’s Fund and the University of Nevada School of Medicine. Our Clubhouse Director, Ms. Flor made Pasquale an honorary member of the Clubs. Thank you so much for supporting our Clubs and wonderful community!

The Disney Store Grand Opening at the Fashion Show Mall on Saturday, August 17, 2013 was a blast for our Club kids. They had the opportunity to meet Mickey and Minnie! Club kids were also able to go into the store before it even opened to the public. If that wasn’t enough, Disney awarded all our Club kids with $50 gift certificates to the store, and gave them the first opportunity purchase items before the grand opening. When it came time to open the doors to the public, our very own Club kid, Chrystal Reyes held the key and helped Mickey and Minnie open! The first 500 guests will received a special gift. Thank you Disney Store for the great time and support!
